Call NJ Members of Congress:
Co-sponsor HR 676 — Medicare for ALL

At our May 6 General Membership meeting, we agreed to add our energy to the national efforts that now have 110 members of the House of Representatives – a record, including a record three from NJ – signed on as co-sponsors of HR 676. This bill, aka the Conyers Bill, has been introduced every year since 2003, and would expand and improve Medicare to cover every US resident for all medically necessary treatments, including long-term, addiction, mental health, dental, and vision care. EVERYBODY IN! NOBODY OUT!
Make calls to the numbers listed below. If you don't know which Congressional district you are in, click here. If you want to join a team in one of the districts below, contact us here and we will put you in touch with the Congressional District team leader.

Senators, too!

Senator Sanders hasn't introduced his companion bill to HR 676 yet, but you can tell our Senators what to do when he does. Tell them NO Trumpcare in the Senate, and yes to Expanded and Improved Medicare for ALL. Three NJ Representatives have already co-sponsored HR 676: Albio Sires; Donald Payne, Jr.; and Bonnie Watson Coleman.

Seth Kaper-Dale Solid on Medicare for ALL

Seth Kaper-Dale

NJUHC's May 6 General Membership meeting featured Green Party candidate for NJ Governor, Seth Kaper-Dale. He is shown at right with Kim Meudt, one of the Green Party's representatives on the NJUHC Board, who introduced him. https://www.healthcare-now.org/wp-content/plugins/files/civicrm/persist/contribute/images/SKDat5-6-17GMM%281%29.JPG

He did his homework on how single payer can benefit NJ: it can solve the pension crisis; it can reduce municipal budgets by about 20%; it will make NJ businesses more competitive; it will help all residents be able to follow their dreams. He was both eloquent and compelling.

Because of Seth's candidacy, this year's national Green Party Convention will be at the New Jersey Institute of Technology in Newark, July 13–17. As a third party candidate, his name will be on the ballot for the General Election in November.
